Who and What we are
The Cache Valley Gardeners' Market is an open air market where fresh local produce, handmade crafts and foods, and freshly prepared meals are available in this beautiful mountain valley. It is a place for people to gather and enjoy conversation, pick up some delectable vegetables for their dinner, buy live plants to put in their own garden, look for handcrafted gifts for friends or to treat themselves, get breakfast or lunch, hang out and listen to live music, and generally have a good time.
The Gardeners’ Market was started by a group of Cache Valley gardeners instigated by Penny Trinca. At the same time, Penny organized SAABRA, the Sustainable Agriculture Association of the Bear River Area. SAABRA is the parent non-profit organization under which the Gardeners’ Market operates. The Market also has its own committee - which helps make the important decisions required for the Market to remain viable. If you would like to become more involved in the market please contact the Gardeners' Market Committee. To join our email mailing list go to SAABRA Mailing List

2009 CALENDAR
Vendors and Market Goers
We welcome all to come and participate. The market was started to allow people who were growing large gardens, so common in the Cache Valley, to market their extra produce. That’s why it’s called a Gardeners’ Market. The market has grown to include produce vendors who only come to sell a one time surplus of potatoes, to small scale farmers who make it every weekend and have a following of loyal customers. In addition, we welcome vendors with handmade craft items and food products to our market. This has been an immense success, often attracting 1000 to 2000 people to our venue. We also have a changing selection of food vendors, who in the past have made everything from coffee, cookies, muffins, lemonade, breakfast burritos, Indian samosas, omelettes, and BBQ sandwiches. Live music has entertained us: Bluegrass, Jazz, Folk, Eclectic, African Dance - its always something new. If you’d like to participate as a vendor, please download our Vendor Handbook and Application (sidebar or header bar). Currently we only charge $5/ day $100/season for produce vendors including the 10$ application fee. Otherwise it's $10 for the application fee and $5/ week. All other vendors including those selling produce that they bought and are reselling/brokering are charged $175 per season (including app.fee) or $10/ week plus the initial app. fee. Even kids are welcome to make a few extra dollars here at a discounted $1/wagon load. Please note however that only small quantities are allowed under this offer, larger amounts of produce than a 'wagon load' require paying regular produce vendor rates. We encourage junior vendors to become 'regular' vendors - they will be the backbone of the market eventually, and could use a little college money! Musicians - please contact our Music Coordinator.
VENDORS - if you are not going to attend this Saturday please call 755-3950 - press 2 or email won't_be_there(woof@woof)saabra.org (click or take out (woof and paste) with your name, date/s, and phone number.
Prospective vendors, Our Vendor Handbook and Application are now ready for download see sidebar or header bar to click and download. This only refers to the Saturday Market - the Wednesday Market is not set up yet and separate fees and application procedures will be implemented for Wednesday's market. Seasonal Vendor status will only be granted to past vendors, new and recently joined members will only be accepted as weekly vendors. You may pay the season price, however you will not get a reserved spot this year. Produce people are always welcome, Other vendors need approval - see Vendor Handbook. This year every vendor will be required to complete one service day per season - this will usually consist of helping setup or take-down and should not interfere with your sales. If you need to contact us - 755-3950 leave a BRIEF message and SLOWLY give your phone number as it does not have caller ID. Or send input here SEND INPUT-

The Saturday Market is still planned to be as usual. Salad greens, herbs, carrots, onions, and bedding, landscape, herb, and native and waterwise plants are likely to be available for the opening. Freshly prepared food and drinks can also be enjoyed at the Market, such as handmade bread and pastries, locally made cheese, all-natural beef jerky, local honey, salsa, coffee and lemonade. The Market is also a great
place to shop for one-of-a-kind gifts made by local craftspeople, such as hand-sewn skirts and dresses, photography, jewelry, soap, and lotion.
PARKING - Vendors - We are growing and need more parking for our customers. It will not be a problem if we all park a couple blocks away - Garff Gardens is usually empty. Also - when loading and unloading do so as quickly as possible to let others in after you. Get all your stuff ready - park - load/unload everything quickly and move out of the space. Socialize after you've moved your vehicle.
